Guided Relaxation and Fatigue Management

I have run guided relaxation therapy for over eight years with individuals suffering from neurological conditions.

I use guided relaxation techniques such as:

  • Autogenic
  • Colour
  • Visual imagery
  • Deep breathing relaxation

Key goals in relaxation therapy is to help individuals lower stress levels, and connect with their inner self and how they physically and mentally feel.

I encourages patients/clients to bring relaxation strategies to their daily life in a way that best suits their needs – giving oneself permission for ‘time out’.

Fatigue Management

I have run individual and group fatigue management in neurological rehabilitation for over six years.

What is fatigue?

Fatigue is characterised by a sudden loss of energy and it may be difficult to continue daily activities. Fatigue is very different from the tiredness or exhaustion that people without neurological diseases experience following strenuous exercises or a busy day at work. It cannot be worked through and the recovery time tends to be longer.

How can fatigue management help?

Fatigue management helps individuals to find ways of managing their life to prevent or lessen the impact of fatigue.

I offer various kinds of fatigue management:

  • Intro to fatigue management
  • Dealing with fatigue
  • Relaxation strategies
  • Stress management
  • Sleep/exercises/nutrition
